Vintage Luggage & Map Cake

This luggage cake celebrates the 50th birthday for a man who loves to travel all over the world and loves antiques and old maps. We used warm colors for the design and the cake included chocolate cake with pistachio buttercream and chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. We delivered the cake to the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City.
Keith loved the cake! See his comment below:
I ordered the cake and let me tell you – it was the hit of the party. People did not believe it was a cake at first. They were baffled. People would stand at stare at it for 10 minutes, pointing at all the details. Everyone asked me where I got it and if they do wedding cakes. And the flavor was outstanding. It was a huge hit. Thanks to everyone at Pink Cake Box.

The map tier is incredible! I love the colors you used to make it look old and well used!
Thanks Amanda!
OMG, I wish you guys were here in the Virgin Islands to make our cakes for us. We could have a Palm tree wedding cake, a boat wedding cake I could go on and on. Maybe you need to come and visit St. Thomas to check it out for starting a cake baking store here. Right now its 85 degree’s and sunny.
Whats the weather were you are?
Deborah – sounds like a wonderful idea. We just got 16 inches of snow up here in Morristown, NJ. I could use some fun in the sun
Please tell me the bottom tier is an edible image……or else I have to cry and bow down at your feet!
Thanks Karen…I hand painted it with care
Yep, that bottem tier is magnificent! Well done!
