Tiara Topsy Turvy 13th Birthday Cake (1978)
Madison celebrated her 13th birthday at the Manhattan Woods Golf Club this past weekend. To celebrate we created this 4 tier round topsy turvy cake perched atop a gold cake pedestal. The cake was originally inspired by our topsy turvy tiara cake but we made several changes to ensure the cake was unique and represented Madison’s style and tastes.
Madison’s signature color is yellow and the invitation for her party included brown and pink. We worked all three colors into the cake.
The top of the cake includes a metallic gold tiara with crystals that is sitting atop a brown pillow with tassels. The top tier is covered in bright yellow fondant with piped swirls in hot pink. The next tier includes white, brown, and metallic gold stripes.
Hot pink cutout swirls with bright yellow inspired by our topsy turvy bat mitzvah cake highlight the third tier. The final tier includes brown diamonds alternating between pink and hot pink fondant dots. Metallic gold roping wraps around the tier.
Flavors and fillings included our signature pink velvet with blackberry buttercream, banana with vanilla and hazelnut buttercream, chocolate with oreos and cream buttercream, and pink velvet with raspberry chambord buttercream.
Madison’s mom sent us this email. Thanks Jeri for a WONDERFUL email – it made our day!
Hi Anne and the Pink Cake Box Staff,
Thank you so much for making the whole stressful process of planning a big party so easy. My party planner Sandra said it she spoke to you extensively and all went as planned. The cake was absolutely spectacular and it tasted as good as it looked. The color scheme and detailing was gorgeous, exactly what Madison had envisioned. Your cake was a perfect fit for Madison’s party theme.
Thank you so much, I look forward to working with you again, my best with appreciation,
