Sponsored Post – Getting in Shape
Posted to General on Monday, March 30th, 2009.So one of the questions I get all the time is, “why aren’t you enormous, cake lady?” Ok, well, maybe it’s not phrased like that..but you get the point
Besides trying to eat lots of fruits, vegetables, lean meats and fiber, I try to run or work out 3-5 times per week. This is necessary to work off the cake I DO eat
A few months ago, I started working out with a trainer one day a week to switch up my routine. I wasn’t sure I would notice a difference since it’s only once a week. But one time a week, I get my cake lady bum kicked by my trainer Damien. He has also introduced me to kickboxing, as he dubbed me the cake batterer. haha..he’s witty too! I definitely feel stronger, firmer and am even improving my balance!
Anyway, I wanted to write a post to promote Damien and his services, as well as a great anti-oxidant rich product called Mona-Vie.
Whether you are a bride or groom that wants to get in shape for the big day, a mom who needs to get back into working out, or a regular gym rat that just needs a new routine -- Damien will definitely help you see results! Or if you want to improve your health -but can’t train with Damien -- check out Mona-Vie. We purchased a case for my mother-in-law and she loves it.
Lastly, here’s a short video of me displaying my new kickboxing moves

Great blog! Good luck with your training. A personal trainer will keep you motivated! Mona Vie is a great product full of antioxidants. It gives you a great energy boost too.

Awesome blog!! Wish I had a personal trainer!
I do have MonaVie though!! I’ve been drinking it for 6 months now and now I’m a distributor.
Good energy! I know this is more for fitness, but wouldn’t it be great if those kicks would actually send some butts flying =P
Just a couple of 2 cents:
- Keep your posture; don’t “shrimp” too much. To help you do this, when you throw a left kick, swing your left arm to your left side (sort of like making a wide-arc karate chop downward to your left side.
- before you throw your left kick, step outwards with your right foot first and let the rest of your body follow with the rotation. This will make your kicks act like whips and make more awesome sound when it hits the pad!
- Dont kick the pad with your toes. For one thing, it might hurt your toes. Another thing is, during impact, it makes your whole leg rotate if you miss just a little; your knee might get injured from this. Instead, use your shins. If it hurts your shin (I don’t think it will thgouh; those pads look pretty soft), get a cheap-o shin guard from walmart for $6, put it under your pants, and kick away!
Good luck, and have LOTS of fun!
