Leslie’s Pea in the Pod Themed Baby Shower Cake

Like many of our customers, Leslie’s baby shower was impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Fortunately she was able to reschedule for this weekend and we were happy to oblige.

The shower took place at Trio Restaurant in Martinsville, NJ. The cake was partially inspired by our previous twin baby peapod cake.

The two tier cake is topped with a sculpted pea in the pod topper inspired by Leslie’s baby shower invitation. The top tier is covered in ivory fondant with yellow, celadon green, and orange vertical accent stripes. A celadon green band with fondant bow tails wraps around the base of the top tier.

The bottom tier is decorated with yellow fondant and celadon green pea pod cuts out with ivory and orange polka dots. The base of the tier includes rolled fondant balls in coordinating colors. The entire cake flavor and filling was vanilla with raspberry chambord filling

The cake board reads – “To The Mother-To-Be and Her Little Sweet Pea”! Coordinating with the sweet pea theme, we also included fifty “Pea in the Pod” baby shower cookies.
