Sebastian’s Magical Hobbit Hole Cake (2391)
We’ve had the honor of creating several birthday cakes for Sebastian and were thrilled when Kat reached out to us to help design a cake for her son’s 5th birthday party.
Sebastian’s party was centered the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings and we created a Hobbit home inspired by the architecture of the Hobbit’s homes featured in J. R. R. Tolkien’s magical stories. Hobbit homes are often referred to “hobbit-holes” or “Smials” and are normally underground which often means they are built into hillsides.
Our version of the Hobbit hole stays true to the Hobbit’s use of rounded architecture with a rounded front wood door and a rounded window on the side. The entire cake was vanilla with vanilla buttercream and we delivered the cake to Cora Hartshorn Arboreteum in Short Hills, NJ.
Kat was kind enough to leave us this wonderful comment on facebook. Thanks Kat for trusting us with Sebastian’s cake again this year!
Thank you for a wonderfully magical “Hobbit” themed cake. You’ve amazed us every single year for each of our son’s birthdays. Yummy as well!
All the kids enjoyed the cake – as did adults! We have loved every single cake you’ve made each year. Your creativity knows no boundaries. Thanks for making it fun!! Until next year!
Here’s another version of the Hobbit hole for Sameer’s 1st birthday!
