Red Hat Society 50th Birthday Cake
Posted to All Pastries, Celebration Cakes on Monday, September 3rd, 2007.The Red Hat Society (RHS), founded in the late nineties by Sue Ellen Cooper, is a social organization for women over 50. The red hat is a symbol for the society and is worn by members at all RHS functions.
This red hat cake, filled with red velvt cake and cannoli filling, was created for a newly minted RHS member. The hat is adorned with a purple feather and decorated with sugar roses. The mother’s daughter presented it to her as a surprise during her own wedding.

Here’s a wonderful comment we received from the daughter:
This was the cake I presented to my mom at my wedding. I got married on my mom’s 50th birthday so I decided to present her with this cake so we could celebrate with the whole family. Not only was this cake absolutely gorgeous it was soooo delicious too!!!
Thank you for making such a beautiful cake and adding a little flare to my wedding!!!!

This hat looks so great! I can only imagine how wonderful it tastes!
I was a guest at the wedding where this cake was presented. I can tell you first hand that not only was the cake beautiful, but it was absolutely scrumptious!
Thanks Carrie!
