Platinum Ruffle Wedding Cake (1888)
We worked with Laura & Kara from My Bellissima to develop this 4 tier round wedding cake for a wedding this weekend at the Palace at Somerset. We hope we’ll get some professional photos soon, but in the meantime we couldn’t wait to show you this cake.
Starting from the bottom of the cake, the base includes fondant ruffles/pleating to match the bride’s dress. The entire cake is covered in light silver/platinum fondant and includes purple separators with crystal bands in the middle of each one. Each cake tier includes a thin rouched band in dark platinum, with touches of piping and crystal accents.
Small bunches of flowers highlight the entire cake including mini calla lilies, orchids, roses and stephanotis with crystal centers. To match the general color theme of the cake, the entire cake’s flavor is purple velvet with 2 layers of lemon cream cheese and 1 layer of raspberry chambord buttercream.
