Pink Toile Baby Shower cake (920)

The theme for this baby shower centered around pink toile…so not surprisingly we were excited to get the opportunity to create this 3 tier pink and white toile cake. For inspiration, our client sent us a photo from The Stellar Cake Co.

The flavors included vanilla cake with strawberry filling, red velvet cake with vanilla filling and vanilla cake with raspberry chambord filling. The cake was delivered to the Black Horse Tavern in Mendham, NJ.

That’s a cake!?! It looks too perfect to be a cake. But it sounds good enough to eat.

very pretty! Can you tell me how you get the picture printed on the fondant? I have a friend who wants that kind of thing on her wedding cake and I have no idea how to do it.

    1. Anne says:

I have to say, this is one of my favorites! It’s amazing that you hand painted the toile. I love it!

  7. Laura C says:

How long did it take you to hand paint it?

  8. Shell says:

This is beautiful! I’m a big fan of toile & was just curious how you hand painted it on the fondant. Did you use a pattern or it’s completely free-hand? Also did you paint it before or after applying the fondant to the cake? Thanks for sharing your great works.

    1. Anne says:

Hi Shell – thanks for your comment. We painted it freehand after applying the fondant to the cake.

This is by far my favorite cake that you have ever done! I am blown away by the art work. Just curious, are you ever in California for events? I would love to see you work sometime if you are out here.
