Daniella’s Quinceañera Cake

It’s been a while since we’ve posted a quinceañera cake. I think the last one we posted was this topsy turvy cake from 2009! So I certainly apologize for the long interlude.

The quinceañera, also referred to as fiesta de quinceañera or even quince, celebrates the the 15th birthday for girls and has origins in Latin America. It marks the coming of age of a girl as she enters the next stage in her life.

Daniella’s quinceañera celebration was held at Costa del Sol Restaurant in Union, NJ. She was a fan of our orchids and we worked to design this 4 tier square cake. The cake is covered in ivory fondant with light pink bands at the base of each tier. Brown orchids branches with darker pink orchids and buds scale up the sides of cake.

The cake flavors and filings were chocolate with raspberry chambord filling and red velvet with vanilla buttercream.
