This chocolate cake with raspberry filling was inspired by a cake created by the talented cake artists at Sugar Creations. This customer found one of their cakes online and asked me to use it as inspiration.

Trick or Treat. Smell my feet. Give me something good to eat.
Why would I give a tasty treat to someone who forces me to smell their stinky dogs? I mean really. Somewhere along the way this had to have been lost in translation.
“Trick or treat, I’ll rub your feet. Give me something good to eat.” That makes more sense to me. Although I’m sure there are probably laws out there against children exchanging foot massages for miniature Snickers bars. I think Chris Hansen did a special on that last week.
I know I’d rub a foot or two for a few bags of Skittles. That’s for sure. Or Berry Berry Mike and Ikes. There’s so much berry berry flavor packed into every one of those bad boys. Yum.
Well - I hope you have a Happy Halloween. And nobody makes you smell their feet. And no crazy lunatics stick needles in your Goobers.

So today we went to the Hunt in New Jersey, otherwise known as the Far Hill Races. We thought we were prepared with our knee boots, rain jackets and other storm gear. However, nothing could really prepare us for the quicksand-like mud puddles. Some poor guy was walking along, when his shoe was swallowed by the mud. Then some other dude was walking around barefoot, as he apparently gave up in the feud.
After a few drinks, things seemed better however, until I caught my brother eating cake from the buffet table. Who does that? Doesn’t he know the only cake out there is mine? I mean really. And I even saw a little smile escape from his lips…as if he enjoyed the chocolate excuse for a cake. Mud is not an alibi. We’ll just see if I make him his favorite dessert….his annual Christmas Napoleon. Serge, if you’re out there reading this…consider this post a warning. It’s Pink CakeBox cake all the way, all the time! hahaha. Tootles!

These petit fours were a few of the 80 we created for a baby shower. The colors were blue, yellow and white, as a boy is expected. The flavors included chocolate with raspberry preserves covered in dark chocolate, vanilla with lemon and white chocolate and vanilla covered in fondant.

This 3-tier vanilla wedding cake is filled with hazelnut and raspberry buttercream. The sugarpaste leaves were dusted with luster, as were the real ‘mini’ pumpkins.
