Celtic Cross Christening Cake
Spring is here and so are lots of Christenings and First Holy Communions! This particular cake was for a christening. Speaking of Christenings…. my nephew is being christened in a few weeks….and my brother and sister-in-law asked me to be his godmother! Yippy! I’m so excited - I hope I can be a spiritually good godmother….but I know I can make him tasty treats….including a christening cake : ) I wonder if God will consider that good spiritual guidance….hmmm….

A busy day making sugar cookies

Each sugar cookie was individually packaged
These are our signature “Pink CakeBox” cookie favors. We made these to give to the editors that attended the trunk show on Thursday.

So Pink Cake Box is embarking in its first official promotional/advertising adventure! I’m participating in a wedding trunk show in NYC this Thursday at Lara Helene Bridal Atelier. It’s showcasing an assortment of wedding related vendors.
And I purchased my first official magazine ad in Morris Magazine Summer Issue. It’s all very exciting at Pink Cake Box.
And! The biggest and best news of all is that Pink Cake Box has its first official employee that isn’t me! Indira Wiegand, a fabulous baker and friend from the French Culinary Institute started working with me on Monday. Her help is much needed and appreciated. Indira was previously working as a pastry chef at Bouley Bakery in New York City.

This cake was for a close family friend’s wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Boston. It travelled four hours in separate boxes for the great occasion. Congrats Abby and Richard!

The front side of the cake included Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116:
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

Golf bag cake complete with drivers, tees and golf balls. The inside is a yellow cake with chocolate filling. This cake was for a birthday party, but it also serves great as a groomsmen cake.
This cake has also been popular for retirement parties. We created a similar cake for a corporate retirement party with the company logo on the golf bag

Anniveraries are very important. Whether they are to celebrate a marriage, a birthday, a retirement or a big purchase, they are a wonderful way to relive important days in life. I was recently asked to create a cake for a very important anniversary, for Deirdre’s House, a Center for children in Morris County who have suffered abuse, neglect or witnessed domestic violence.
They are celebrating their 10 year anniversary with a Rededication of the Center in conjunction with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and National Crime Victim’s Rights Week on April 26, 2006. Their work is very impressive, you can check it out at http://www.dobcac.org/.
Anyway - I’m very excited to be a part of the rededication and to donate my services to such a great cause. I’ll definitely post a picture after the event.
