Back in November we created a wedding cake themed off of the popular scrabble game. Carrying that theme forward, this week we created a scrabble themed set of cupcakes, cookies and a topper cake for a bridal shower in Mendham, NJ. The cupcake flavors alternated between white, chocolate and red velvet cake with raspberry chambord, strawberry and vanilla fillings.

Our cookie, cupcake and topper cake combination is becoming popular for weddings, showers and dhristenings. For this set, we created cross cookies, cross topped cupcakes and a white and pink topper cake. Each cookie was wrapped with cellophane and a pink bow. The topper cake was adorned with a pink fondant bow, swiss dots and a pink polka dotted cross. For the event, we included our 5 tier cupcake stand to display the cupcakes and topper cake.
The cupcake flavors included vanilla cake with strawberry frosting and chocolate cake with raspberry chambord frosting. The top cake was red velvet cake with vanilla filling.

An assortment of flowers, bees, ladybugs and butterflies highlight this summery 1st birthday cake.
We received wonderful feedback from the daugther’s mother:
Hi Anne! Thank you so much for the perfect cake for my daughter’s 1st birthday! It was the hit of the party and was all everyone talked about after I took it out of the box
And the very best part was that my daughter was able to enjoy it in spite of her food allergies. You helped make her 1st birthday a special and memorable day.
Thanks Polly, we are glad you enjoyed the cake!

We incorporated several safari animals into this birthday cake including a giraffe, elephant, lion and zebra. The dog, which is obviously not an animal one would see on a safari, was created based on a picture of the customer’s dog. The flavors of the cake included red velvet cake and vanilla cake with lemon cream cheese filling and raspberry chambord filling.

You can catch two of our wedding cakes in the Fall issue of the Knot New Jersey magazine. The first is the mosaic-inspired cake we created for The Knot Northern Jersey Market Party. The second cake, our 4-tier peony wedding cake, is featured in the Knot Notebook Fashion section where it is paired with a Reem Acra gown.

It’s not unusual to be a cake disguised as Tom Jones…. I sang a lot of renditions of “It’s not unusual…” while decorating this cake. I’m pretty sure my staff was happy to see the cake disguised as Tom Jones leave the premises so I would stop singing…
We created this cake disguised as Tom Jones for a group who travel to Atlantic City every year to see Tom in concert – they call it the TJ Experience. The bras and room keys are sugarpaste, as are his collar and enormous belt buckle. His hair is chocolate buttercream… we had some ‘hair’ left over and made some Tom Jones Hair Cupcakes…mmm….who doesn’t want a bite of that?
By the way, how many times have I said the “Cake Disguised as Tom Jones”? I think too many.
The top tier includes marble cake with vanilla buttercream, the middle is vanilla with chocolate buttercream and the bottom tier is chocolate cake with oreos and cream filling. See the cake disguised as Tom Jones below
