September in NJ brings cooler weather and lots of weddings. This weekend we created 120 orange velvet cupcakes with vanilla buttercream for a wedding reception at the Chart House in Weehawken, NJ.
Along with the cupcakes we created a topper cake decorated in ivory pearl fondant with a light brown ribbon around the middle with a gold sparkly brooch in the center. We used natural toned orange roses on the top of the cake with lime green hypericum berries. To complete the package, the bride and groom rented our medium cupcake stand to display the topper cake and cupcakes.
Fatima left us this wonderful comment about her stand. Thanks Fatima!
Wow, Anne these are my cupcakes! Thank you soooo very much. It looked absolutely stunning with my theme/decor etc. I mean it was just perfect. Not only that but these were the best cupcakes i have ever tasted! Sean and i intended to feed each other just a bite of one cupcake at the reception. However, we ended up feeding each other 2 cupcakes lol! Yes in front of everyone! We just couldn’t stop.
People are still calling me about the cupcakes and we just returned from our honeymoon lastnight. As soon as I receive my photos i will be sure to send you one of the setup. My florist made a bed of grass and he had orange roses coming up out of the grass. It was gorgeous. I can’t wait for you to see! Thank you again Anne. You’re truly amazing!
We included sets of swiss dots and silver piping to match the bride’s dress on this 3 tier round wedding cake. Fuchsia satin ribbons and calla lillies top off the rest of the cakes highlights. Inside the 3 tier cake was pink velvet cake with raspberry chambord buttercream and hazelnut buttercream. We delivered the cake to Douglaston Manor in Queens, NY.
Vanessa left us this wonderful comment. Thanks Vanessa!
We absolutely loved our wedding cake! I plan on writing a detailed thank you when the thank you cards arrived, but I thought I should respond to these comments as well. Everyone at our wedding could not stop talking about the cake! And it was absolutely delicious as well! I could not have dreamed of a better wedding cake, and I can’t wait to get the photos back of us enjoying it! Thank you Pink Cake Box for doing such a wonderful job!
Why have one cake when you can have three? This trio of graphite fondant-covered cakes by New Jersey–based baker Pink Cake Box fills up a dessert table. Plus, you can select three different flavor combinations. Here, a dark-chocolate cake with gianduja-chocolate ganache is flanked by a coconut cake with toasted-almond buttercream filling (near right) and a pistachio cake with chai-tea mousse (far right).
Summer’s not quite over yet, but this cake is a reminder of the weather that’s in store for us. We fashioned this 3 tier round cake with a mountain ski theme of Okemo Mountain in Vermont. At the top of the cake is the birthday boy decked out in ski gear.
The cake included carrot cake with cream cheese. We delivered the cake to Del Posto restaurant in New York City.
Ivory fondant with bunches of sugar flowers and petals cover this 3 tier round wedding cake. We used orchids, hydrangeas and roses in whites with touches of green and yello. The flavors included chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream, and chocolate cake with oreos and cream buttercream.
The Pink Cake Box team will be participating in this year’s American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Parsippany, NJ. Making Strides is close to our hearts as our company is comprised of 95% women. We would like to show our support and raise money for breast cancer research and awareness by donating our time and proceeds of our “pink” products.
We’d like to ask all our loyal readers to help support us. Every donation makes a difference. We know times are tighter than normal for many of us, but if you can spare even $5 that will help.
Also, as part of our “pink” product line, we’ll be selling Pink Ribbon Cookies to help raise funds. 100% of the profits from the cookies will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Call us today to find out more!
Each of us has our own reasons for caring about the fight against breast cancer … whatever your reasons, I hope you’ll choose to make a difference, make history, and make strides with Pink Cake Box.
The ladybug theme makes a return in this 3 tier baby shower cake for my friend Jessica! We used reds and pinks throughout the cake and the top of the cake includes a ladybug girl to match the invitation – while the bottom of the cake includes ladybugs centered white daises. The flavors included chocolate cake with peanut butter buttcream, vanilla with hazelnut buttercream and marble cake with oreos and cream buttercream. Congratulations Jess and Brad – we can’t wait to meet your ‘little lady’ !
I love the salmon atop this topsy turvy birthday cake decked out with a Hawaiian shirt and golf club. The cake includes other mementos for the birthday boy including two sports pennants and the wall st. journal. The flavors include chocolate cake with mocha buttercream, and vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream. We delivered the cake to Lu Nello’s restaurant in Cedar Grove, NJ.
Nancy sent us this great email thanking us for the cake:
Just a quick thank you to all for the amazing job on the cake Saturday evening! Needless to say, the party was a total smash and the cake was a MAJOR highlight of the evening!. We had it put out before we arrived so we could enjoy it all night.
My brother was so moved by all the little *special* touches. Believe me, he is not usually an overly sentimental guy so it was great seeing him so excited!
We hated cutting it but it surely did taste as good as it looked.
Please extend an extra thank you to Allison (hope that is spelled correctly) for all her patience during the design process.
If you have a great pic of the cake, can you possible forward to me. We have some but it was dark in there so I bet you take better pics. We can’t wait until out next very special occasion so that we can call on you again. We will most certainly be sending great words about you along to friends and family.
Fashioned after our red rose hollywood wedding cake, this 4 tier cake is highlighted with a light silver martini glass with a glitterl sivler show, poker chip and red roses. Black damask cutouts which match the wedding’s invitation cover the 2nd and bottom tier while silver sparkly swirly dots cover the remaining tiers. The flavors included vanilla with raspberry chambord buttercream, red velvet with lemon cream cheese and vanilla with chocolate buttercream. We delivered the cake to the Bowery Hotel in NYC.
Here’s a video I shot at the bakery:
