We created this tennis racket cake for a Bar Mitzvah at the Metropolis Country Club in NY. Along with the cake, we included tennis ball shaped cupcakes.

We received this great thank-you email from Sarah:
Hi Anne,
I just wanted to say thank you so much, and let you know how amazing Matthew’s tennis racket cake was. It was really unbelievable, and so delicious too. Everyone was raving about it, and it was just perfect. The cupcakes were awesome also. So thank you so much for your creativity and your professionalism, and for helping to make Matthew’s Bar-Mitzvah(and his candlelighting) a true success.
Sincerely,
Sarah

On Wednesday we had to say farewell to one of our interns, Risa, as she headed back to school. We wish her luck at The Culinary Institute of America! In honor of her last day, we threw a ’salad party’ and everyone brought an ingredient for Risa’s favorite salad. It was yummy - since I too love salad…I was very excited! Here you can see us clad in party hats! It’s too bad we don’t ever have any fun….ha.

We always appreciate the recognition received from other bloggers and websites. And, since it’s been a while since we did a cake blog roundup post, I figured it was time to highlight some recent posts:
CakeSpy - Jessie of CakeSpy devotes such detail and passion to each and everyone of her posts. We were fortunate to get the opportunity to do an interview with Jessie. Both Christine and I answered several baking and decorating related questions. You can see the full interview here.
Cupcake Takes The Cake - This blog continues to amaze me in the amount of cupcake related content they generate and link too on a daily basis. How much cupcake content am I talking about? Well over a three year period they posted over 5000 cupcake posts! We are happy to be included as part of that in a recent interview posted on the blog.
NJ My Way - The cupcake trend shows no signs of slowing and this article talks about some of the places in NJ to get unique and unusual cupcakes.
Christy Hulsey featured our Bridal Shower Gift Box Cake and cupcakes in a recent post on her blog. I personally really enjoyed making this cake and appreciate Christy recognizing our work.
This is by no means a comprehensive list. Stay tuned for more posts in this series…

This 90th birthday cake was inspired by our lavender Quinceañera cake. Two robins sit on top of the cake with birds and butterflies circling the sides. The pink and green colors were created to match the party’s invitation. Inside the 3 tier cake was Lemon cake with rapsberry chambord buttercream filling.

Dress for Success Morris County is celebrating its 10th anniversary at the Spring Brook Country Club in Morris Township tonight. We were so excited to be asked to be a part of the their event, entitled, “Success is Sweet.”
The Success Ball will also include many silent auctions items, dinner and dancing. The purpose of the event is to raise money to support Dress for Success Morris County’s mission to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to help women enter the workforce.
We created a briefcase and shoe box topped with a dress form - ‘dressed for success!’. A sugar resume and pen finished off the cake. The cake was our signature pink velvet cake with raspberry chambord filling.
