Just in time for Black Friday – we introduce the Diva 30th Birthday Cake!

This cake and the sugar figurine surrounded by shopping bags were created to match the birthday girl’s 30th birthday invitation. The $29.95 price tag was created to match the card’s theme – “I’m not 30, I’m 29.95 + Tax”. The flavors included marble cake with vanilla and chocolate buttercream and red velvet cake with cream cheese.

You can find this yellow wedding cake in New Jersey Bride’s Fall 2009 Edition. The cake is a lemon cake with chambord mousse and chocolate ganache inside.

I will be attending FCI’s open house on December 3rd from 6:30 to 8:30pm for a special event with FCI founder Dorothy Cann Hamilton, author of Love What You Do: Building a Career in the Culinary Industry.
During the session Dorothy will host a Q&A session with myself and Ed McFarland, owner of Ed’s Lobster Bar in NYC, discussing how we came to be where we are today.

It’s 1:30pm and one pie is still in the oven. Cutting it a little close perhaps. But maybe I just like to live life dangerously. Apparently my idea of rebellion is Thanksgiving morning baking
This year I tried two new recipes. A Sour Cream Apple Walnut Streusel Pie and a Pumpkin Pecan Pie with Whiskey Butter Sauce. It’s possible that I may have already tested the whiskey butter sauce. And it may be delicious. Potentially….I’m just saying…
At any rate, I better go check on that last pie! ‘
Pink velvet with lemon cream cheese and chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and chocolate buttercream make up this 2 tier floral cake with sugar flowers. Ivory fondant with cutouts in purple, hot pink, lime and silver decorate thet top tier and the bottom tier includes a hot pink swirl pattern. The cake was inspired by our sweet 16 Hexagon cake.

Liz and I attended the Pink Tie Party Mayfair Farms in West Orange last night. We debuted our new flavor – pink champagne cake and mimosa buttercream. Some were even filled with vanilla mousse. In total we donated 600 cupcakes for the event. Funds from the event will support breast cancer research and life-saving breast health programs for uninsured women throughout Northern New Jersey.

So I was browsing through the interweb and came across this blog with some really cool photos of our red rose damask wedding cake from Threshold Visions.
I immediately contacted the photographer Christopher Duggan and asked if he could send us some photos to use on our blog. That same day he hand delivered a CD to our shop in Denville, NJ. Talk about service! Now that is a photographer I would hire

A golden bow with purple and ivory Gerber daises highlight the top tier of this 3 tier gift box 40th birthday cake. The flavors included hazelnut buttercream, red velvet cake with lemon cream cheese and chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and raspberry chambord buttercream. We delivered the cake to Reeves Reed Arboretum in Summit NJ.
