High Heel Birthday Cake

Posted to All Pastries, Celebration Cakes, Happy Birthday Cakes on Sunday, March 9th, 2008.

We created this 2 tier white cake with black polka dots for a friend’s birthday party. The black and white high heel was incorporated from the party’s invitation.

    Anne,

I just wanted to let you know that your cakes are so fabulous! They have inspired me to start making cakes with the rolled fondant and I LOVE IT! I have made a few cakes for friends and family, and am making a Tiffany & Co. cake for a 25th birthday party this weekend. Thank you so much for the amazing cake ideas, they are so beautiful!

Natalie – glad we could help inspire you to start experimenting with fondant. Good luck!

Adele – I’m surprised that topsy turvy cakes aren’t more popular in England. Thanks for your comment.

  • Hi,
I like your cake photos, you have a nice talent for this. I make cakes also in 3-Dimension form. I make them to raise money for charity mostly. if you go to my facebook page, i have some examples of my work. Enjoy the day, thanks for sharing your craft.

I LOVE your Blog and cakes. I have been decorating cakes for years (self taught) for family and friends but have always used Butter Cream. I have just begun working with fondant. Have always been scared! LOL! Plus, I have a really hard knowing exactly how thin to roll it and actually rolling it out thin enough and then transfering it! So will keep trying. My niece wants me to make her cake for her 13th birthday so I am going to try and do something like your High Heel Birthday cake…I wish you were closer! I’d just order it from you! LOL! Thanks again for sharing your work and inspiring those who do this as a hobby.
