When the bride and groom came in for their tasting, they explained that the setting for their wedding was in the bride’s parents backyard, under a big white tent. Her mother’s beautiful blooming garden was to be the main adornment for the location. They were interested in a cake with whimsical fresh florals. The couple also brought along a photo of cake they found in a magazine (created by Ron Ben-Israel cakes) that had delicate silver details along the bottom of each tier.

We created this four tier wedding cake and created a similar detail along the bottom of each tier in a powder blue per the bride’s request. Then to mimic the garden, we created sugar paste peonies, roses, sweet peas, lisianthus buds and larkspur to ‘grow’ from this cake. We incorporated vibrant pinks, blues, green and white and even a few sugar butterflies. The first three tiers are vanilla cake with hazelnut and raspberry chambord fillings. The top tier is chocolate cake with oreos and cream filling.
