Bat Mitzvah Winter Wonderland Cake

Heather reached out to us last year asking if we could work with her to help design her daughter Emily’s Bat Mitzvah cake. Last year we worked with the family to design a Bat Mitzvah cake for their other daughter Rebecca, so we were excited to do another cake for the family.

For this cake we designed a winter wonderland theme for the celebration. The top of the cake included a glittery silver “12″ with a variety of light blue and white snowflakes. The second tier is covered in light blue fondant with a white center band with a bow and tails. The center of the bow is highlighted with a crystal snowflake.

Flavors and filling included red velvet with vanilla buttercream, chocolate with marshmallow buttercream and vanilla with chocoalte buttercream. We delivered the cake to the Powerhouse in East Hanover, NJ.

Topsy Turvy Candy Cake with Owl

For Mia’s birthday we created this 3 tier round topsy turvy cake. The top of the cake includes an owl which was created to match an image sent by the client. The cake is decorated in bright colors including hot pink, bright yellow, bright blue, medium purple and lime. We decorated the base of each tier with rolled fondant balls and included fondant lollipops on each tier.

The entire cake was our signature pink velvet with oreos and cream buttercream. The cake was inspired by Hailey’s topsy turvy candy cake that we created last year.

Green Cymbidium Orchid Birthday Cake

We worked with one of our favorite wedding planners Shawn Rabideau from Shawn Rabideau Events & Design in NYC to create this 4 tiered topsy turvy birthday cake.

Quilted fondant in ivory covers each tier and the top of the cake is decorated with green cymbidium orchids with additional accents of orchids around the base of each tier.

Favors and fillings included lemon with vanilla buttercream, S’mores (graham cake with marshmallow and chocolate buttercream) and chocolate with raspbery chambord buttercream. The cake was delivered to the W Hotel in New York City.

1st Birthday Animal Cake

Last year right around this time we created this mommy-to-be baby shower cake for an expectant couple One year later they reached out to us to celebrate their son Deven’s first birthday.

For the party they asked us to coordinate the colors and animals for the cake to match the decor of the party. The 2 tier topsy turvy cake is decorated with several animals including a monkey, lion, giraffe and elephant all wearing their party hats. The lion at the top has the most important job which is ensuring that the green gumpaste number “1″ doesn’t topple over.

The front of the bottom tier includes a rectangular plaque with Deven’s name in alternating yellow and lighter blues matching the party’s invite.
The entire cake was coconut with pineapple buttercream.

Sweet 16 Zebra & Polka Dotted Birthday Cake

Our popular topsy turvy sweet 16 returns this week for a party at Leonard’s of Great Neck in Great Neck NY. The top of the cake includes a glittery silver with hot pink feathers and glittery pink and silver stars.

Black zebra prints with polka dots and a hot pik bow higlight the rest of the cakes decorations. We included color coordinated round fondant balls around the base of each tier. Favors and fillings included vanilla with oreos and cream buttercream, coconut with vanilla buttercream, chocolate with oreos and cream buttercream and vanilla with chocolate buttercream.

5 Tier Topsy Turvy Flower Wedding Cake

The top of this 5 tier round topsy turvy wedding cake includes a sculpted replica of the couple’s dog with pink collars. We used bright and whimsy colors for this wedding cake including light yellow, caladon green, and shades of pinks.

The top tier of the cake is covered in yellow fondant with navy cutout swirls. The next tier, covered in celadon green has a hot pink fondant band with white fondant circles and a navy monogram for the couple. A white fondant tier follows with diagonal stripes in various widths and colors. The fourth tier includes navy Swiss dots while the final tier includes hot pink stripes.

We incorporated pink flowers inspired by the bridesmaid’s Lily Pulitzer dresses at the base of each tier. Flavors and fillings included carrot cake with lemon cream cheese and vanilla buttercream, vanilla with raspberry chambord and chocolate buttercream and lemon with raspberry chambord buttercream.

We delivered the cake to the Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield NJ. The setup for the wedding was beautiful, but unfortunately I did not have my camera! Hopefully we’ll see some photos from the couple!

Topsy Turvy Girly First Birthday Cake

This three tier topsy turvy birthday cake was created for Danica’s 1st B-Day party. The cake’s colors and patterns were inspired by the tableware and supplies for the 1st birthday party.

The top of the cake includes a hot pink number “1″ with a yellow halo. Floating above the halo are hot pink angel wings. A black and silver diamond pattern highlights the top tier, while the middle tier includes white cutout polka dots and a hot pink version of Danica’s name in a font which matches the client’s favor plate. The final tier includes a hot pink bow and hot pink diamond patterns.

Topsy Turvy Tie Dyed Cake

For the last three years, we’ve been commissioned to help create a cake for Deyana’s birthday party. When she turned 4, we created a candy land topsy turvy cake. On her fifth birthday, we created a fairy tale themed cake. This year, we had the honor of creating a tie-dyed topsy turvy cake for Deyana’s disco fever themed party in Hillsborough, NJ.

The birthday cake includes peace signs in hot pink, yellow & orange along with several glittery disco balls. Inside the cake was hot pink velvet with vanilla buttercream. Along with the cake we included matching peace sign and disco ball cookies.

Happy 6th birthday Deyana!

Sweet 16 Damask Cake with Sugar Figure

Our client provided us with picture of their daughter which we replicated in sugar form on the first tier of this topsy turvy sweet 16 cake. We used turquoise blue & chocolate brown colors to match the parties colors. A damask pattern covers the first tier with polka dots and stripes on the remaining tiers.

Flavors included chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, raspberry chambord buttercream and oreos and cream buttercream.

Hot Pink Topsy Turvy Bat Mitzvah Cake

Hearts, smiles and peace signs decorate this 4 tier topsy turvy Bat Mitzvah cake. The party was held at the Grand Summit Hotel in Summit NJ. The top tier of the cake is covered in white fondant with a glittery hot pink bow. The second tier includes black cutout diamond patterns with silver dots in the corners. The third tier is decorated with peace signs, hearts and smiles in white, black and hot pint. Finally the last tier includes hot pink, silver & black fondant stripes.

Flavors included chocolate cake with oreos and cream buttercream and our signature pink velvet cake with vanilla buttercream.
