Fighting Irish Groom’s Cake
Posted to All Pastries, Cake Videos, Celebration Cakes, Grooms Cakes, Sculpted Cakes on Sunday, March 1st, 2009.
We were contacted by the bride for this sculpted cake. She said her fiance is obsessed with the University of Notre Dame and was hoping to have a cake made in a shape of the fighting irishman mascot.
The cake was one of our more challenging cakes, but in the end we were happy with how it came out. Inside the mascot is chocolate cake with cookies and cream.
I also took a short video of the cake where I explain a bit about what we used to create the cake. The video is a bit shaky, but it gives an entire 360 view of the cake so please excuse my amateur video-taking capabilities.

This is really neat! Sculpted cakes so much time to get right – I think only us cake designers know how labor intensive it is! lol….great work to you and your team…I really enjoy this blog
Thanks Alicia!
Anne – WOW! This cake is amazing! I am a complete amateur and the things you do with cake simply leave me speechless. You are my mentor!
