Dresser Cake (407)
We created this dresser cake for a grand opening party at the British Pine Emporium in Madison, NJ. The sugarpaste picture frame sitting atop the dresser holds the actual invitation from the event. To the right of the frame rests a sugarpaste vase with pink sugar roses and a sugarpaste business card holder. The entire dresser rests atop a fondant oriental rug. Inside the cake is yellow cake with raspberry chambord filling.
Here’s a picture of the cake setup for the party at the store:

That is officially the most impressive cake I’ve ever seen. Amazing, and beautiful.
Anne! This is wonderful, beautiful, and amazing all at the same time How tall is it? It looks huge! the carving down the sides to give it curve WOW! putting fondant on this cake was a challenge. the woodgrain and the drawer pulls!!! The lace work on the sides to make it look so perfect and carved! Down to the rug under the dresser. You are one amazing artist! You need your own show!! I pray that I can raise the bar on my cakes as well. You set new standards every year! Bravo!
That’s a cake! Wow! I really thought it was a dresser. Do you have pics of it after it was cut?
I’ve noticed that a lot of your cakes have raspberry chambord filling. What exactly is that and do you have a photo of it? Thanks.
Fab cakes…I am impressed!
Love.
Thanks everyone
Shara – I think it was around 2 1/2 ft. Thanks for your comments
I’m curious to know what it looked like after people started eating it. I want to see inside it etc, otherwise it’s hard even to imagine that this is really a cake. Impressive.
Ditto…..Angela

Jim – wish I had pictures of the inside. Thanks for the comments everyone.
Dear Anne,
This cake is absolutley amazing. After looking at your cakes I have been inspired. I am 15 years old and I have been wondering for a while what I should consider doing as I get older, and now that I’ve have seen you work, I am considering becoming a baker as you are. I know that this is a slightly corny comment, but you truley have encouraged me to persue baking!!!
Thanks Connie, I’m glad we were able to inspire you!
Sometimes you just never know what kind of novelty cake people are looking for. I think its a miracle that you’ve done this genius piece of art.
Wow miracle and genius all rolled up in one comment…Thanks!
