Heap, an accomplished pastry chef and founder of the Pink Cake Box, a by-appointment-only specialty bakery in Denville, helps people celebrate the holidays and other important milestones throughout the year with her custom-designed and beautifully crafted baked goods. Whether it’s the wedding, birthday, shower or anniversary cake of your dreams, a pyramid of flowery pastel cupcakes for your daughter’s tea party or a legion of cellophane-wrapped snowmen cookies for a corporate event, Heap and her staff can expertly and deliciously provide it.
Heap, a graduate of Boston College, began a career in advertising but was soon lured away to pursue her dreams of baking. She enrolled in New York’s French Culinary Institute Pastry Arts program, apprenticed at the famed Ron Ben-Israel cakes in Soho, went on to become pastry chef at Il Capriccio Ristorante in Whippany and has been whipping up innovative sweet confections ever since.
Her specialty-baking business started out small in her home kitchen, then expanded to her mother’s larger kitchen. Now it’s grown significantly and is housed in a deluxe, modern-equipped
shop.
