Tutu Dress Cookies

This past weekend we created black, white and pink ballerina shoes and tutu dress cookies for a girls birthday party.  The ballerina cookies were decorated in fondant with a fondant bow at the top.

The dress cookies were covered in white fondant with a combination of pink gumpaste decorations and black ruffled decorations.

Ice Cream Cone Cookies

Continuing this weeks theme of cookies that look like other sweets, here are a set of ice cream cones we created for a birthday party this past weekend.

Royal icing and fondant were used for the decorations.  Each cone included brown fondant with darker brown royal icing criss crosses.  And of course you can’t have an ice cream cone without toppings!  We accented each ice cream scoop on the cone with various garnishes like a cherry, fudge and sprinkes.

Cupcake Cookies

We’ve done cupcake cakes before, but I believe these may be the first set of cupcake cookies we’ve ever created at Pink Cake Box.

Each cupcake was decorated with fondant liners in blue, fuschia and lime green.  Flower decorations and sprinkles accent the cupcake tops which were also covered in fondant.

1st Birthday Giraffe Cake

Today we celebrated JJ’s first birthday! I cannot believe a whole year has passed! It has been an amazing year – and we feel so blessed to have such a great little guy in our lives!!!

So, of course I put a lot of thought into his cake. I actually had a few break-downs over this one! I felt so much pressure because I was worried one day he’d look back at the pictures and say, “Geez mom – why did I have such a mediocre cake?” I fully acknowledge I’m nuts At any rate, after remaking the giraffe and balloon (the first one was entirely too large for this cute little cake!) everything sort of fell into place.

Just in case there is any question who made the cake I included a “Love Mommy” tag on the back.

Unfortunately, when the time finally came for the big cake moment, JJ was less than thrilled – and didn’t even smash his smash cake! It may have had something to do with the fact that I stripped him down to his birthday suit in front of his entire party….or that he was just overtired, or that this is just the first defiant moment that my son had against his mother! Hahaha.

At any rate, the design of the cake was inspired by JJ’s favorite stuffed giraffe, and his love for balloons! The giraffe is holding onto the 1 for dear life, as the balloon is tuggin on his tail. The cake flavors were banana (JJ’s favorite!) filled with vanilla bean and chocolate italian meringue buttercream, and red velvet with lemon cream cheese and raspberry chambord italian meringue buttercream.

We included “1″ favor cookies, and some mini chocolate cupcakes as well. Happy Birthday little boy! We love you! P.S. Next year JJ you are getting Fudgie the Whale!

Animal Cookies for 1st Birthday Party

We created an assortment of animal cookies for a birthday party this weekending including giraffes,hippo and zebra. Each was covered in fondant and decorated with royal icing.

Snowflake Cookies

The cold weather is beginning to slowly take hold in New Jersey. So its appropriate we begin to move into holiday/winter mode with our cookies. To kick off the 2011 winter season we created 25 snowflake cookies for a birthday party this weekend.

Each cookie was covered in white fondant with a piped number 7. Half of the numbers were piped in pink while the other half were piped in purple. We included a pink and purple ribbons to match.

Monogrammed Christening Cross Cookies

These cross cookies were created for a christening this past weekend. Each cookies was covered in light baby blue fondant and decorated with a monogram in white royal icing.

Train Cookies

We created these train cookies for Kingston’s 2nd birthday party. The theme of the party was Thomas the Train, so fittingly we coordinated these cookies to match the theme.

Baby Carriage Cookies for Baby Shower Celebration

A favorite for baby showers, the baby carriage cookie returned this weekend for a shower in Livingston, NJ. The cookies are covered in ivory fondant with pink and brown royal icing accents.
