Bat Mitzvah Winter Wonderland Cake

Heather reached out to us last year asking if we could work with her to help design her daughter Emily’s Bat Mitzvah cake. Last year we worked with the family to design a Bat Mitzvah cake for their other daughter Rebecca, so we were excited to do another cake for the family.

For this cake we designed a winter wonderland theme for the celebration. The top of the cake included a glittery silver “12″ with a variety of light blue and white snowflakes. The second tier is covered in light blue fondant with a white center band with a bow and tails. The center of the bow is highlighted with a crystal snowflake.

Flavors and filling included red velvet with vanilla buttercream, chocolate with marshmallow buttercream and vanilla with chocoalte buttercream. We delivered the cake to the Powerhouse in East Hanover, NJ.

"Hear & Now" Wedding Anniversary Cake

One of our favorite customers reached out to us about creating a 20th anniversary wedding anniversary cake for her parent’s anniversary party at Martell’s Waters Edge in Bayville, NJ.

We incorporated several special items from the couple’s life including a replica of their boat, signs from locations they’ve visited, bright hibiscus flowers from Hawaii, a 3d sculpted rock formation from Lover’s Beach and their grandchildren’s names.

We also included the bride and groom perched atop the bottom tier of the cake. Their likeness was inspired by photos from their wedding day. The bride is dressed in a white lace dress and hat while holding a bouquet. The groom is wearing glasses with a black suit, white shrit and a wide silver tie.

The cake transitions from light blue at the top to a more traditional white wedding tier at the base. The entire cake was marble with 2 layers vanilla mousse and 1 layer chocolate ganache.

Topsy Turvy Sweet 16 Cake

Michelle reached out to us to help design a special cake for her daughter Taylor’s sweet 16 celebration at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston, NJ. For the design we we worked in our favorite color hot pink along with black, white and accented silver piped swirls. (The silver piped pearls were inspired by this sweet 16 cake we designed nearly 2 years ago)

The top of the cake includes a silver standing “T” for Taylor along with hot pink and black ribbon roses. The top and bottom tiers are covered in white fondant while the middle tier is covered in hot pink with a black center band and bow. The center of band includes a hot pink brooch.

The entire cake was vanill rainbow polka dotted with mocha buttercream.

Sweet 16 Winter Wonderland Snowflake Cake

It means a lot to us when a customer comes back for another cake order. Trish emailed us back in October and asked if we could create a sweet 16 cake for their daughter’s sweet 16 party at the Madison Hotel last weekend. We created a cake for the family back in 2009 and Trish was kind enough to leave us this comment thanking us for the first cake:

We were so happy with our first daughter’s cake from you (Nov 2009 @ the NJPAC) that we’re back for daughter # 2!

This time around, she and her daughter took a look at a few of our winter themed cakes and decided on a similar cake to this 2 tier winter wonderland cake.

The top of the cake included a standing gumpaste “16″ in silver with white piped snow and white and light blue snowflakes and stars. The entire cake, 4 tiers in all, was covered in white fondant. The first and third tiers were decorated in light blue swirls with white snowflakes and silver piped dot accents. The second and fourth tiers are highlighted by light blue and silver stripes with silver piped dot accents.

Pink Christening Cross Cake with Damask Pattern

This christening cake was based on our lavender christening cake we designed late last year.

What’s unique about this cake is our baby pink “bow loop” cross. The top and bottom tiers aare covered in baby pink fondant with white damask and a white thin band at the bases. The middle tier is decorated with white fondant and baby pink swiss dots and a baby pink cutout for Adrianna. A baby pink bow with tails adorns the base of the tier.

We delivered the cake to La Pastaria in Summit, NJ. Flavors and fillings included vanilla with lemon cream cheese and raspberry chambord buttercream, chocolate with chocolate and peanut buttercream and vanilla with lemon cream cheese and raspberry chambord buttercream.

Arabian Nights 3rd Birthday Cake

We created this three tier square cake for a 3 year-old’s birthday. The party was Arabian themed and at the top of the cake we included a gold 3D sculpted genie lamp. The top and bottom tiers were covered with quilted fuchsia and decorated with gold piped dots and gold tassels.

The middle tier was decorated in fuchsia fondant with darker fuchsia cutout diamond patterns and larger gold piped dots in the corner. Flavors and fillings included banana with chocolate buttercream, vanilla with oreo buttercream and red velvet with vanilla buttercream.

1st Birthday Giraffe Cake

Today we celebrated JJ’s first birthday! I cannot believe a whole year has passed! It has been an amazing year – and we feel so blessed to have such a great little guy in our lives!!!

So, of course I put a lot of thought into his cake. I actually had a few break-downs over this one! I felt so much pressure because I was worried one day he’d look back at the pictures and say, “Geez mom – why did I have such a mediocre cake?” I fully acknowledge I’m nuts At any rate, after remaking the giraffe and balloon (the first one was entirely too large for this cute little cake!) everything sort of fell into place.

Unfortunately, when the time finally came for the big cake moment, JJ was less than thrilled – and didn’t even smash his smash cake! It may have had something to do with the fact that I stripped him down to his birthday suit in front of his entire party….or that he was just overtired, or that this is just the first defiant moment that my son had against his mother! Hahaha.

At any rate, the design of the cake was inspired by JJ’s favorite stuffed giraffe, and his love for balloons! The giraffe is holding onto the 1 for dear life, as the balloon is tuggin on his tail. The cake flavors were banana (JJ’s favorite!) filled with vanilla bean and chocolate italian meringue buttercream, and red velvet with lemon cream cheese and raspberry chambord italian meringue buttercream.

We included “1″ favor cookies, and some mini chocolate cupcakes as well. Happy Birthday little boy! We love you! P.S. Next year JJ you are getting Fudgie the Whale!

20th Anniversary Cake

We created this 3 tier square cake for the 20th anniversary celebration for Allen Flavor. The cake represents all the different departments of the flavoring company.

The top of the cake includes the company’s logo with curls in maroon, silver, gold, fuschia and hot orange. The cake tiers are covered in white fondant with maroon bands at the base.

The the top tier is decorated with office supplies and a salesman in a suit with a briefcase. The middle tier represents the lab portion of the company and includes a women in a lab coat. The bottom tier represents the factory and includes a man operating a fork lift.

The flavors alternated between vanilla and chocolate with layers of chocolate buttercream. We delivered the cake to one of our favorite venues – the Stonehouse at Stirling Ridge in Warren, NJ.

Candy Cane & Gingerbread Christmas Cake

We are so sad that Christmas is already over! So to help keep the spirit alive here’s a 3 tier candy cane and gingerbread cake we made for the Christmas season.

The top tier is covered in white fondant with various sized red and green polka dots. Sitting on top of the tier is a fondant gingerbread figure surrounded by fondant candy canes and peppermint wrapped candies.

The next tier is covered in green fondant with a red center band and bow. The final tier is covered in white fondant with red and green stripes. Flavors and fillings included chocolate with oreos and cream buttercream, vanilla with raspberry chambord buttercream and smores.
