Blush Pink Wedding Cake with a Twist! (2319)
The entire four tier wedding cake is covered in blush fondant and includes an assortment of flowers including peonies in ivory/blush, anemones in white/blush with a black center, and lilly of the valley. Small ivory piped pearls highlight the base of each cake tier.
The middle of the cake is highlighted with a fun ivory and black bow with a scalloped edge. To achieve this striped look we rolled the gumpaste into stripes and then rolled it all together with the ivory fondant. The scalloped edges were created afterwards.
The bottom of the cake includes a playful twist with the couple’s mini-dachshund doggies dressed up as the bride and groom. The girl doggy is taking a bite of the cake, while the groom dog is passed out in a sugar coma from eating too much cake! There is a cute story here, the groom proposed to the bride with the dogs dressed up as the bride and groom!
Along with the wedding cake we created 100 sitting mini-dachshund dog cookies tied with a black and ivory ribbon. The dogs were dressed in a tuxedo and wedding gown to coordinate with the wedding cake. The cake flavors and filling included red velvet, chocolate with oreos and cream buttercream and chocolate filling and vanilla with chocolate and raspberry chambord buttercream.
