Hi Anne!
I just saw this challenge the other day for the first time and as soon as I saw that you were competing I called my husband in to watch the show, and I told him you were one of the most talented and amazing cake artists I’d ever seen. I was so rooting for you and was shocked that you were the only one who’s intent was to please the client. I could not believe that the other contestants came in with their own ideas and were set on selling their own concept. Wow! I was crushed that you ended up in the situation that you did. There were so many factors working against you and I hope that you do not personalize ANY of it. The bride was obviously really out of it because of the fasting, and that in itself will make anyone overly emotional and angry. (Been there!) I don’t think she realized how difficult it can be to translate an idea on paper into cake. LIke you said yourself, “It’s just not what I do”. The whole thing was so unfortunate, but obviously it was a good experience for you to go through and you’ve come away from it a true champion. I really think some people can decorate and some people can compete and you obviously can do both very, very well. You are an inspiration and I know that you will receive all the best that you deserve for all your hard work and dedication. Thank you for what you do!
Julia – thanks so much for your sweet note
