Antique Tea Party Shower Cake (2390)
To coordinate with the bride’s French tea party bridal shower theme we worked with the mother of the bride Teresa to design this elegant shower cake for the celebration. The champagne and cream colored flowers included peonies, lily of the valley and garden roses to match the flower arrangements of the wedding.
Teresa was inspired by our Bridal shower Hat Box cake we created a few years ago. The top tier of the cake was fashioned into a champagne colored hat box with a slightly pale lavender open lid. The hat box is bursting with flowers cascading from the box and down the tier.
Strands of pearls are also flowing out from the hat box with a Louis XIV shoe at the base. Atop the tier sits an English porcelain tea cup with a gold handle and rim. At the shower, all the centerpieces were antique tea pots filled with peonies and cream roses which tied perfectly with the decorations on the cake.
The next tier, another round shaped tier, is decorated with gold patterned fleur de lis around the tier. Additional clusters of blush peonies, lily of the valley, and cream garden roses decorate the cake tier.
The colors used throughout the cake were inspired by the bride’s blush color dress and the bridesmaids lavender dresses. Flavors and fillings included vanilla with pina colada, chocolate with peanut butter buttercream, marble with oreos and cream buttercream.
Here’s a video of the cake I shot at the bakery:
Teresa sent us this email after the bridal shower. We are thrilled the cake was a hit!
It was a hit!!!! The cake was more than I ever expected!!!It was perfection!!!! It was, as we say “La pièce de résistance.” I am sure you will have many orders coming!
My daughter’s bridal shower was absolutely well coordinated with the cake being the actual centerpiece. She was extremely happy & very surprised!
I shall send you some pictures!
Thank you for making our special day such a memorable one! The macaroons were handed out as hors d’oeuvres.. (so decadent!!!!!) And now that I think about it… where did the left overs go?!!!! Hmmmm
You are fantastic!!! Merci,
